vsnlegalrec is a low cost and intelligent solution that enables recording the broadcast to comply with legal requirements. It digitises in hard disk the entire programming 24hrs up to 6 months or whichever scheduled periods of time. It is self-maintained, deleting automatically the previous days to the established timeframe.

The compression format is Windows Media 9, and the quality configurable up to 5Mbps. There is also a MPEG-2 4:2:0 version with variable bit rate from 1 to 15Mbps, in case better quality is required.

It receives commands and metadata from the master control room playout vsnmatic to start and stop recording and to import metadata from vsnmatic's rundown for text browsing.

VSN has recently launched the new version vsnlegalrec DTT, which is now compatible with digital broadcasting. The new vsnlegalrec DTT allows to record in Windows Media format the signal received in digital television stations while maintaining all the features of the previous version. To facilitate signal distribution to a greatest number of viewers, the system offers the two streaming modes, that is, with or without Windows Media Server. Its channel searcher allows to easily spot the channel you want to record without you needing to introduce the required parameters manually. Along with its sister application, vsnlegalplayer, the required materials are retrieved and exported to a separate file. The capture date and time can be embedded into the video for visual registry purposes.

vsnlegalplayer is VSN's browsing module. Inquiries can be made from any PC of the network or from the Internet. Browsing is done easily by date and time with a record in the database.

When the desired segment is found the system can transfer it to a VTR via RS422 protocol or get the WM9 file streamed or recorded in DVD/CD.
